New year, new platform...

Well… here we are! New platform, fresh start, same mission.

If you’ve followed us over from the old site - thank you, I hope you love the new look! And if you’ve just discovered Nail Your Career - I’m so glad you're here, and genuinely so pleased you've found us. Welcome!

I’m Fiona - salon owner, educator, Scratch Magazine contributor, award finalist, and (let’s be honest) someone who has learned most things the hard way so you don’t have to. I’ve been in this industry long enough to know what actually works… and what’s just shiny marketing wrapped around bad ideas.

Nail Your Career has moved to a new purpose-built training platform because we outgrew our last site. I want this to be the place where busy, driven adults can retrain properly - around kids, work, life, chaos - and still build real, professional nail and beauty businesses.

Not hobby businesses.
Not “maybe one day” businesses.
And absolutely no MLM nonsense dressed up as opportunity.

This blog is a space to talk like we would over a cuppa in the salon: honestly, respectfully, and with a bit of humour when things get messy. You’ll find:

  • trends - and whether they’re actually worth paying attention to

  • facts and best practice (without the gatekeeping)

  • business truths no one told us when we started

  • my take on the industry, based on real experience at the desk, in training rooms and in the press

Sometimes I’ll share wins. Sometimes I’ll share the “oh wow, that was a disaster” stories. Both matter, because both are how we learn.

Most importantly, I want this to feel like a supportive corner of the internet where you’re encouraged to think bigger, train properly, develop your skills and build a business you’re genuinely proud of.

So whether you’re brand new, returning to study, or already working and looking to level up, welcome. I’m really glad you’re here, and I’m excited to see what you build.

Here’s to our new chapter!
Fiona x
